I swapped my 60 gig hard drive out of my ps3 for this 500 gig one and it worked great. Don't worry about loosing your downloaded content because you can redownload it for free (you already paid for it). Just look in your PSN account("download history").It took me about 15 min. to copy my game save data to 16 gig usb flash drive, swap hard drives, then reinstall them. If you buy a 2.5 inch sata hard drive case you can use your old one for a portable external storage device.

Wow. Replaced a 100GB 5400 RPM drive in my 2.16 GHz 2006 MacBook Pro. This drive is so much faster it is like having a new Mac. I did my research before and this drive got high reviews. Many of the SeaGate drives reported high failure rates.

My Windows 7 laptop detected this right away and quick formatted just as fast. I was benchmarking this within 5 minutes of receiving it.
I ordered this with an external case, Sabrent 2.5 Inch SATA Hard Drive USB 2.0/ E-SATA Aluminium Enclosure (EC-25HSU) and eSATA cable Serial ATA 2.0 Cable, eSATA 300Mbps, 0.5 Meter (1.6 ft).
The case comes with a USB->Power input cable for use as eSATA device, but not an actual eSATA cable. If you'll be using this as an external USB drive, you won't need the extra cable.
I would recommend running as eSATA because it's up to 3 times faster for sequential reads/writes in that mode, so for large files, videos, and creating backups it will really hum along.

Got this to replace the 5400 RPM drive that came in my Lenovo IdeaPad. I specifically purchased a western digital drive because that is the brand that came with the laptop, and this made a seamless and mostly problem-free hard drive cloning using WD's Acronis True Image software (downloadable from their website). Cloning across brands typically causes more problems, and I had none in this case except having to restart 2 or 3 times when prompted by the Acronis before cloning could begin.

I sort of wonder whether they put these 5400 RPM drives in this model of IdeaPad (I have a z575) because the structure isn't built to perfectly dissipate this amount of vibration. I couldn't tell my 5400 was spinning at all, but now that I rest my hands on the keyboard I can feel a tiny bit of movement with the 7200. I am anal about this stuff but I think even I will get used to this and forget about it. It's not that bad. And I believe the speed increase is definitely work it. This drive took my Windows Experience Index hard drive score from 5.9 to 7.0. So it's definitely accessing data faster making boot time significantly less and allowing installed programs to load things faster. I recommend this drive, and it's currently one of the better deals since the Thailand floods.
